Mindfulness Resources

I’m Michelle

I began my career as an AmeriCorps attorney with Legal Aid Services of Oregon, where I worked handled domestic and sexual violence cases. I then moved over to the criminal side by working at Metropolitan Public Defender. At the same time, I began practicing yoga and mindfulness which has made all the difference in terms of stress relief.

After three years there, I began working on capital post-conviction and federal habeas corpus cases. And I became certified to teach yoga, meditation, and mindfulness.

My ability to be a zealous and compassionate advocate for my clients is rooted in the resiliency she found as a yoga, movement, and mindfulness instructor.

In 2012, I founded Balanced Professional to support lawyers and other professionals on issues surrounding well-being issues, including perfectionism/impostor syndrome, work/life balance, emotional resilience, self-compassion, and stress reduction.
